Progress on our Studio/Store in St. Pete!

The plans for the work at Painting with Fire Studio in St. Pete were approved last week.  So far, they've installed an ADA bathroom, a drinking fountain, replaced the electrical for the lighting on the workshop side and the retail side, installed gas for on-demand hot water.  Over the next two weeks, a new ceiling with track lighting will go in, along with A/C and a ventilation system. After that, the rooftop deck and new awning get installed.

This has been a MAJOR undertaking!  Of course, the budget continues to rise as they find deficiencies in the space as a result of non-permitted work being done over the years.  But it's all good.  We have an excellent general contractor, Fred Dion, (who's related to Celine Dion btw).  Fred calls us everyday with updates ... sometimes twice a day. The project couldn't be in better hands.

I can't believe that I'll be a full-time resident of St. Petersburg in late April and I haven't packed one box yet!

What a wild crazy exciting time for you! The not packing thing would have me totally stressed out, but you seem to be handling everything in stride.

Looking forward to having you down here in Florida. Spent 3 hours enameling at the ArtCenter Manatee and had fun. Would like to learn more from one of your workshops/classes.

Jennifer, I'm a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants kinda girl! However, I do freak out, but it's usually not until the 11th hour. Maybe THIS is the eleventh hour ... but I don't feel it yet. Maybe another week! LOL

Regina, I hope you come in. We should be up and running by around May 1. Would love to meet you:-)

I can't wait to see what has been accomplished since I was there in Feb. Sounds like a lot. I don't know how you're going to fit in packing with another trip down here for the class on the 18th and everything else you have going on. But it will happen and all will be good. See you in a week!

I'm looking forward to it, Cynthia. Be prepared for a lot of giggling! It's going to be a smaller group ... easier to laugh a lot ... not as many people to look at you weird!

Baraba!
i cant tell you what a pleasure it was to finally meet you and to learn a bit about torch fired enamel from both you and your wonderful boy! You are going thru a huge move and I am so happy but wish that I had a chance to learn form you here before you left! Just have to follow you around if you ever decide to leave St Pete once you get moved in. that might be hard for you , as your plans sound wonderful!!! I did buy a hot head and I plan to be shopping with you on line as I am very excited about continuing with the bead work!!!
If you do want to shed some of that sea glass that we talked about at ARt and Soul , I would love to have it and I do want to make you a couple of pendants from the glass that you could pair with your gorgeous beads. I will send you $ for a flat rate box!!
Keep on slogging thru- it is a marathon but it will be so worth it!!
Very best and Big hugs!!

Thank you so much sweet Barbara for your comment on the utube video of my daughter...she has been bugging me for a utube account and I am just not ready for that so I told her I would put it on my account. Why do they have to keep growing? Why cant they stay 5? Sigh.
