Whew!

I feel so relieved at this moment! "Why?" you ask. Because I sent half of the projects for the book to the publisher today ... by overnight mail!

To celebrate, I'm showing you just a corner of one of the pieces for the book. It's amazing the discoveries you make when you have sustained time in the studio. My husband has totally taken over the job I once had in his psychology practice so that I can work freely on the book. He's an amazing guy! He has always wanted the best for me. He said to me one day, when I was a potter, "You know, just because I earn more than you do doesn't mean that what I do has more value and what you do has less. It's our society." And, I thought, you know he's right. If I were a potter living in Japan, where pottery is revered, it would be different. But, that feels like a lifetime ago in some respects.

So, folks, have a nice night. I know I will ... I'll be watching last night's episode of "The Closer!" A simple life of simple pleasures!

That little snippet has definitely got me intrigued. Half way there! Congrats. It is wonderful indeed that you've got that kind of support. What a fantastic guy. And why is it we put so much emphasis on 'earnings' as a measure of worth in our society?

Yay! crossing off lists I see. Jim is an amazing guy who shined when he talked about you, the whole drive to your house! Shhh, he told me I couldnt rat him out. He loves you so much. Having husbands who cherish us just being a wife and a mother, and supporting our artistic endeavors, it means the world! We chose well my friend, we chose well. Laura

Thank you all for your encouraging words. Jim was touched by your comments. I've been telling him he's a great guy. I guess he didn't believe me! LOL

That neck full of beads on the right is fabulous. My enamel earrings were a big hit at the bead show. I loved the look on the other lampworkers faces when I said I made them in the torch. You should be getting more lampworkers to your shop, I told all of them where to get the bead pulling station.

I am soooo very happy for you Barbara! I do believe I know how you feel, as even finishing packing away supplies (after a teaching gig) these days, makes me feel like I've completed a HUGE task! LOL.
I can hardly wait for the book! I am excited =))
